Infinity pool at sunset overlooking the Caribbean at Jade Mountain, St. Lucia

Luxury Blog · Soufrière, St. Lucia

Three-walled suites open to the Pitons and the Caribbean, most with a private infinity pool.

Jade Mountain sits on a hillside above Soufrière on St. Lucia’s southwest coast, facing the two Pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its architect and owner, Nick Troubetzkoy, designed it around one idea: nothing should stand between the guest and the view.

His answer was to remove the fourth wall. Each room, called a sanctuary, is open on one side to the Pitons and the sea. There is no glass and no window frame. The structure itself had to be engineered so that private infinity pools could sit at the edge of each open room without blocking the view.

He removed the fourth wall. The Pitons became the architecture. The view became the room.

The sanctuaries

Room categories rise in size from the Sky Jacuzzi sanctuaries to the Celestial Sanctuary, the largest, with an oversized private pool. Most categories include a private infinity pool. Every guest has a dedicated butler who handles dinner reservations, spa times and excursions.

Dining and the beach

Meals are served at the Jade Club, a terrace restaurant with the Pitons in front of you. Jade Mountain shares grounds with its sister resort, Anse Chastanet, at the bottom of the hill. That gives you access to the beach, the reef just offshore for snorkeling and diving, and more restaurants.
